Christina Hageny is the President and Founder of Valor Payroll Solutions, launched in 2020. Under her leadership, the company has rapidly grown into a trusted partner for small businesses, delivering tailored payroll services with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and personalized service. In 2024, Christina was honored as the Oklahoma Payroll Professional of the Year for her contributions to the industry.
With 14+ years of experience in payroll, including roles as an internal payroll professional, service provider, and PEO expert, Christina’s knowledge covers payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and benefits administration. She holds the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designations, along with licenses in property, casualty, life, and health insurance.
Christina is passionate about advocating for payroll as a vital industry, regularly participating in industry events and mentoring the next generation of payroll specialists. Outside of work, she enjoys CrossFit, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two young sons, bringing her drive and dedication to every aspect of her life.

Rusty Hageny

Rusty has proudly served as a Firefighter in the Air Force National Guard for 18 years, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to protecting others. Alongside his military service, he works full-time for Phillips 66, where he plays a crucial role in purchasing materials for their oil and gas refineries, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
He lends his expertise to Valor Payroll Solutions by assisting in the development of strategies and marketing initiatives. His diverse skill set and experience make him an invaluable asset to the team.
In his spare time, Rusty loves spending time with his sons, hunting, and engaging in real estate investments. He is deeply passionate about helping small businesses succeed and is dedicated to maintaining a happy and fulfilling family life, always striving to support and keep his wife happy. Rusty’s multifaceted career and personal interests reflect his commitment to excellence in all areas of his life.

Katie Birky
Payroll Operations Manager

Katie has 12+ years of payroll and human resources experience and has worked with clients from varying industries. Katie originally set off in her career to work in healthcare because she loves helping people, but found herself working in payroll and, to her surprise, enjoyed it.
Providing payroll-related solutions to small growing businesses allowed her to extend her caring nature in other ways that she found just as much fulfillment from as working in healthcare. Katie is a builder and an innovator, and has a special skill for finding solutions to complex problems in creative ways. She has a history of delivering excellent customer service and providing a high level of care and attention to her clients. She understands the difficulties and nuances that small business owners face.
In her free time, Katie loves spending time with her husband, two dogs, and four cats. Katie loves to travel around the country with her husband while following around their favorite bands and seeing them in concerts. Katie also has a passion for space and rockets, so she is always watching live streams of rocket launches and staying up to date on all of the missions. She also enjoys playing video games in her down time. Katie is ecstatic to be a part of Valor Payroll Solutions and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
